Sustainable development is the
“development that meets the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own
needs.”
Our Common Future, a report issued in 1987 by the World Commission on
Environment and Development chaired by Ms. Gro Harlem Brundtland.
Sustainable development
Our approach
Our approach to sustainable development at VINCI Construction Grands Projets is built on the concepts of Quality, Safety, and Environmental protection and is based on fundamental principles:
- Define the organization and interfaces, identify risks, take care over every detail of the operations planning, and put in place the means to achieve objectives right from the start.
- Define operational rules and guidelines for internal teams and external participants, define objectives, and foster dialogue.
- Train and support our employees and subcontractors to promote adherence to rules and guidelines.
- Observe, monitor, analyze, and listen. Use feedback to enhance practices.
- Evaluate results in light of the objectives. Encourage positive initiatives. Call into question the effectiveness of our practices.
Our approach is designed to harmonize the actions of the three topics, thereby enabling all employees to apply them and responding to current and future requirements by the different stakeholders (clients, personnel, the Group, suppliers, partners, and the general public).

A management system for each and every project
A specific management system is designed for each project
during the preliminary phase of worksite planning that takes into
account:
• Contractual obligations
• Legal and regulatory
dispositions in the host country
• The nature of the work and
risks associated with the project
• Constraints associated with
the environment (human and natural)
• Special materials and
equipment.

QSE challenge
More than ever, quality is at the heart of what we do. Quality
refers not only to the superior finished products we must deliver to
clients, but also to the exemplary safety and environmental protection
practices we must deploy at all stages of the project life cycle, from
design to implementation to delivery. Our “QSE
challenge,” launched at all current worksites and in our
agencies, showcases the measures we have implemented to enhance
performance in terms of quality, safety, and environmental protection.
As part of the QSE challenge, 3 projects/agencies have received awards.
