VINCI Construction Grands Projets attends the 2010 BAUMA International Trade Fair
The prototype for the self-compacting concrete segment mould for tunnels, a shared innovation by VINCI Construction Grands Projets and CBE Group, was presented at the 2010 BAUMA International Trade Fair. This Fair for construction machinery, building material machines, construction vehicles and equipment featured 3,000 exhibitors and drew 415,000 visitors.

Following several months of research and development, teams from the engineering and technical solutions division at VINCI Construction Grands Projets and from CBE Group jointly developed a prototype for a self-compacting concrete segment mould for tunnels. Besides the equipment, this innovation also includes a unique method and a specific concrete mix design to facilitate the bottom-up injection of concrete followed by hardening in a "classical" horizontal position.
This solution enables vibration-free segment production, thereby eliminating noise pollution and streamlining the process. As a result, higher-quality segments are produced and by facilitating the process, the fabrication cost is optimized.
