QDVC’s commitment to electronic waste recycling
QDVC, subsidiary of Qatari Diar (51%) and VINCI Construction Grands Projets (49%), inked a partnership with the Qatari Telecommunication company Qtel to collect electronic waste (e-waste).
Qtel launched this campaign in its stores end of June 2010 and QDVC was the first private company to contact them for a partnership. Collection boxes, accepting old mobiles, batteries and laptops, have been installed in all QDVC work sites and offices. It will be sent to Singapore to be recycled, as Qatar doesn’t have yet any factory for this specific purpose.
This initiative of e-waste collection is part of QDVC’s sustainable development policy, which was expressed in a Charter endorsed in June.
