New Hydroplus contract for the Foss Dam in the United States
On January 8, 2010, Hydroplus, a subsidiary of VINCI Construction Grands Projets, signed a €200,000 contract with the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority to upgrade Foss dam spillway. The scope of the works includes design and engineering of a Fusegate System and technical support. The Fusegate solution will bring the dam into compliance with the dam safety regulations in terms of discharging the design flood. This mimizes the amount of construction works and preserves the appearance of the structure. Foss Dam is located 35 kilometres west of Boston, Massachusetts.

Meanwhile, in the United States, Hydroplus is upgrading the Canton Dam with use of nine Fusegates - at 9.60 m in height, the tallest ever built. They will be installed onto a newly constructed spillway, increasing the spillway discharge capacity from 9,900 m3/sec to 18,000 m3/sec.
The project is set to be completed in 2012.
