Training for all

On most of our projects, VINCI Construction Grands Projets hires support personnel and construction manpower locally. We develop job-specific training for unqualified employees ((A)live on site) and specialized personnel as well as external training for high-risk positions such as crane operators and electricians.

Knowledge transfer

By employing local manpower, VINCI Construction Grands Projets has over the years developed an expertise in knowledge transfer. In fact, knowledge transfer is one of the added values we provide to the emerging countries in which we work, including Vietnam, Libya, and Egypt.

Health

Our personnel have access to medical resources onsite. On some of our worksites, over three-quarters of medical care received is not related to work but goes instead to the families.

Lodgings

Accommodations for expatriates and local personnel at remote sites are either newly constructed or renovated. Generally, these accommodations are transferred to the client or to the local population once the project is completed.

Sustainable facilities at the Ca Mau worksite

VINCI Construction Grands Projets is building an industrial zone in the Mekong Delta, a rural area covered by wetlands. Neighbouring villages are disadvantaged and have received assistance from worksite officials to create durable facilities:

Renovated housing (water, electricity, plumbing, and sanitation) to be used by worksite personnel and transferred to the village at the end of the mandate
Waste management: collection zones have been set up and transportation of waste has been organized and paid for by VINCI Construction Grands Projets
Improved water supply thanks to two new wells
Wastewater collection and treatment by specialized services

The VINCI Foundation

The VINCI Foundation was created in May 2002 in response to VINCI Group’s desire to be a reliable partner in the municipalities and communities where the Group builds and manages systems and structures. The Foundation supports community-based players and associations that are committed to social integration through employment and to bolstering social bonds at the neighbourhood level in France and in the other countries where the Group is present.

The Foundation also serves as an interface between VINCI personnel’s skills and the needs of community-based players and agencies.

Since its inception, the Foundation has provided support to 658 projects, including 121 in 2008, enlisting the participation of over 700 VINCI Group employees.
