PS70 pumping station in Qatar: a success story for VINCI synergy


The PS70 pumping station is the largest such facility in the Middle East with a pumping capacity of 680,000 m3 per day, which was can be extended to 900,000 m3 per day. It is designed to raise waste water in the northern sector of Dona, the capital of Qatar, from a depth of 40 m, and channel it to a treatment located 25 km away through a triple rising ductile iron main (1,600 mm in diameter) that will also be built as part of this project.

Mid-Adit Breakthrough of the Second Hallandsås Tunnel in Sweden

On April 3, 2012, the Hallandsås rail tunnel project began a new step in boring into the mid adit (halfway) in the second of two tunnels. In the first half, 2,500 m were dug in 13 months by the Åsa tunnel boring machine. The project, which is part of the renovations to be done to the railway line running between Malmö and Göteborg, aims to considerably increase traffic on the line and to double the maximum weight of freight trains using this route.

The Hydraulics Directorate attends the 6th World Water Forum in Marseille

The Hydraulics Directorate at VINCI Construction Grands Projets, and its subsidiaries WMI, Hydroplus, and Via Marina, were in attendance at the 6th World Water Forum. The event, held from March 12 to 17 at Parc Chanot in Marseille, brought together over 35,000 participants representing 173 countries, including 170 official delegations (the far right photo shows representatives from the Sri Lankan delegation). The event, whose theme was “Time for solutions”, also brought together all stakeholders involved in water-related issues, including access to water, sanitation, and the management of water resources with respect to climate change.
